Through the square window

Been a bit sick over the last week so haven't been that active either on YoP or with the camera.

Working from home I managed to grab a couple of shots (feeders in view of desk) yesterday through the window.

Not the best I know but at least the 'Blue Peter' feeder seems to be working

Re: Through the square window

I know the feeder doesn't lend itself to attractive shots, but you are getting good practice. Those birds are looking lovely and sharp.

Re: Through the square window

What's wrong with that feeder

You're right though - I'm new to garden bird photography and at the moment the feeders are there to attract them. I've a few shrubs and branches which I've recently pruned and the plan (hopefully) is to get more pics of them 'off' the feeders once things grow a bit - so yes - this is good practice for me as the birds get comfortable with the new fast food outlets.

Re: Through the square window

Great pictures Phil and I love the feeder. I have many feeders in my garden and hope to starting getting some photos soon. We have been lucky to have a mallard nesting in the garden and kingfishers nesting in the riverbank. I only wish I had the time to sit for hours and wait for the opportunity to try and capture these beautiful birds.

These ones were from about 15 meters or so at a guess. 400mm on a cropped body - images are also cropped.
