Post a Pic: Painting with light

POST A PIC RULES:
* No limits on the amount of pics we post
* Comments welcomed
* Do not post consecutive photos - wait for someone else to post a photo before adding another.
* If there have been no new photos for a few days then you can post another, but please do not add more than 3 consecutive photos.

Painting with Light
A thread for light graffiti, light trails, painting with light... etc

To create light trails you need to use a long exposure time, set your camera somewhere steady and point it at some moving lights - travelling car lights, fire flies, someone with a torch etc etc.
I talk like I know anything about it!!! I had never tried it until last night! Hopefully someone way more experienced will be along to share some real knowledge soon!

Here is a link to a photographer who creates unbelievable images with lights and long exposures.
http://www.michaelbosanko.com/

Here is my first ever attempt at long exposure. Actually its 14 attempts stuck together!
My kids got glo sticks at their school disco and were dancing around in the dark so I whipped out my camera.
My settings were:
f 7, shutter speed 2.5 seconds, ISO 1600 (!!!! they really weren't very bright and didn't hardly show up until I upped the ISO to there!)

Canon 50mm 1.8

Re: Post a Pic: Painting with light

Nice idea.

I wish I had thought of that.

I also wish I'd bothered to look at Michael Bosanko's website and then post a link for everyone else to share.

Re: Post a Pic: Painting with light

Ta need to step further away from the camera next time, so I don't chop anything off, next time.
