A Single Bloom

Part of a flower set I am working on for a shop, all to be hung as long canvases.
There is a Rose,a Lily, and a Gerbera to go with this Chrysanthemum, will show as I edit them.

It is probably easier to say what I haven't done to these
Shot against a white background, flash bounced a ceiling, in a natural lit room.
Destaturated in Lightroom using one of my presets, then into CS4 where I used a couple of my own actions to colour fill, at varying opacities, fiddling of curves and a grungy texture. All will be edited the same way, the Gerbera the same tones etc. The Rose and Lily to have the same treatment, but a darker feel.

Thanks for looking x

Re: A Single Bloom

oh yes!
Images are generally just an image file.
You add them as an extra layer over your picture then fiddle with the opacity and blending style to taste.
You can mask back on important bits like faces.

There are millions of textures on flickr.
Here is an example:

or

There are also loads of Flickr groups dedicated to exploring textures like:

Re: A Single Bloom

Jeni

as Em said, add textures as a layer, then adjust the opacity, also you can bring out details through the layer/layers.

Em, yes I know Florabella's work it is lush, love the very milky opaque work, with tea roses and jugs, keep meaning to do some xxxx
