Lounge ceiling light (light and dark)
Don't even have to ask if this works because yes it does the light is on
.Don't know why I took this photo apart from being bored and looking for something to get a picture of. Should have levelled the picture, oh well never mind.

It's an interesting idea, I think it's worth revisiting! 
Perhaps an even darker background would help? As you say, straightening would make a massive difference!

Tried this a while ago and it's it's tough to get the light/dark balance right.
The alignment (to show) is nice to get right before posting but isn't that important. I guess the trick is to hold detail in those bright areas without the light casting onto the dark background.
