Re: Glasgow Green firework display

Thanks for the comments everyone

Unfortunately I dont think I had any choice but to add the full lenght of the bridge and have the fireworks at the far right, otherwise I would have rows of heads and childrens light sabers waving about in the image. A taller tripod would have helped and maybe allowed for some portrait orientated shots. As I said before, I got there with just minutes to set up and I had no idea about which point the fireworks would appear over the bridge and unfortunateley it was to the far right. If I had arrived there sooner I would have been at the opposite side to where I was (on the Clyde) and much closer as well. Nevermind, there is always next year. I might have my 5dMKII by then and/or a 60d

Great bridge too. I've noticed on the shots I have seen of Glasgow, the bridges are lit up in a really nice way.
I think I went woooooooooahh when they exploded at first but not out loud

"childrens light sabers waving about"

Great shots DJ - Perth is getting a reputation for the fireworks display but we didn't manage to go this year.

I quite like like the bridge in the foreground. Fireworks can all get a bit similar if there's nothing else in the frame and I think by putting the 'explosions' in the background you gain not only a sense of scale but capture an event associated to a particular place and occasion.

Re: Glasgow Green firework display

Wonderful shots DJ - I actually rather like the bridge in the first few photo's. I must say though, my favourite has to be the mono picture
