Worth braving the cold

thought it was worth spending the day watching the garden visitors to see whether we would have any new visitors for Winter. Most of the day nothing unusual really. Then about an hour ago, just as i was making a cuppa, noticed a larger bird on the feeder, before i got my camera ready it jumped onto the fence and then feeders grabbed focus for the shot, i seen enough though to see it was a Jay, 1st time its been here since Summer.
Luckily it had just flown into the neighbors trees, so i set camera up outside and hoped for the best, watched it jumping from branch to branch and then flying further down away from me due to neighbors daughter and friend having a snow ball fight in their back garden and a fog horn has not got anything against this kids voice. I did manage a few shots but they were quite rushed and therefore not focused well. Here is one of the best images.

What a beautiful bird mate not seen one round here or not close up anyway, and good shot considering.

Lovely! I know we get them quite near here, but never had any in the garden yet - and they wouldn't be overly common round here anyway! Well done - they're beautiful aren't they?

good capture Mark, we have quite a lot round here, but they are quite flighty, i suppose it doesn't help because they shot them here it's a shame because they are gorgeous, but everyone round here has a downer on all the crow family.
