Looking at the pics on the web now, I think there's more subtle tones in the FDR one. I adjusted the contrast in both pics with PS but thats all that was done.

There's certainly more saturation in the 1st one - the red coat and the wooden facia on the building.

There's more contrast in parts of the 1st - the Falkirk wheel itself........ yet some areas of the 2nd have more contrast - the barge.
