Seems quite a few book e-tailers have records showing a Nikon D400 book with the ISBN: 9783827244826
Question is, will it be FX or DX? The replacement for the D300 or a model above it?

There are sooooo many rumours flying around about the D400!! One being its capable of 1080p recording...Hmmm..
I personally think that it may well be a 15mp DX. It just doesnt make sense to release anothe FX so soon after the D700s and the D3Xs release. They would shoot themselves in the foot doing that.

1080p video makes the most sense - like megapixels it's what will sell these new cameras imo.
15mp is fine, no one knows about DX or FX, if FX they'll make more money on lenses as people will want better glass. But DX makes sense as D400 seems like an obvious replacement for the D300.
I reckon we'll find out soon enough tho!

Looks like canikon.de were first with this news, with this info from Markt und Technik publisher of the aforementioned book: There was no Nikon D400 book after all!
Or did they get a telling off from Nikon as sales (might have) dropped off on the D300? Guess we'll never know! (or know soon enough!)

i guess that it's telling that the D300 is being discontinued. A shame really as it is certainly a camera that raised the bar in many areas.
