A couple of tips

A couple of tips.

Tip 1
When you want to drag an image onto a new canvas, select the move tool press the shift key (keep it pressed in) then click on the image and drag it onto the new canvas then release the shift key. This will place the Image in the centre.

Tip 2
If you need to scale the Image then select free transform, edit- free transform, and then select one corner and while holding the shift button in, scale it to size. What I like to do though, Is select the free transform and hold down the shift and opt/alt buttons. This allows you to scale to size but also allows all the image to be scaled centrally rather than having to keep moving the image into place.

Tip 3

Always feather your masks to blend them better. It can be done by adding a blur (GB) to the MASK, around 2px (unless you want more of a blend) or it can be done by feathering the mask.

Tip 4
When sharpening (normal sharpening that is) always set the layer to luminosity, this is important as it avoids colour shifts or fringing.

Tip 5
If you want to print an image, say 5x7 and in doing so you end up cropping off part of it, then before you crop, goto the canvas option and add a boarder to the image. You can now crop it at 5x7 and have the whole of the image showing and a little room for mounting.
