808 RC4 Manfrotto Tripod head - disability advice

Ongoing health problems (use of only one arm) saw me resort to the 322 RC2 Heavy Duty Grip last year for single handed landscape framing.

After recovering I sold it on but the problem is back.

I now have a 808 RC4 Manfrotto Tripod head and wanted to flag it up as a great head for anybody that has mobility / strength problems.....

Whilst I only have one arm that I can use - anybody with issues such as arthritis might consider this. When you release the handles the whole camera isn't free to suddenly drop down 90 degrees - it's softly sprung to prevent it crashing down in any direction.

There are two balance springs in the vertical tilt (forward/backward) and horizontal tilt (left/right) movements. These springs enable you to more comfortably handle 8KG.

Just thought I'd point it out as I'm sure I'm not alone in having some kind of frustrating disability.

Re: 808 RC4 Manfrotto Tripod head - disability advice

I had the Manfrotto 222 joystick head for a while Phil. It required only one hand and could hold the heaviest of gear. Too bad it wound up lost along the highway when a hole burned into my tripod bag while on my motorcycle. That head wasn't cheap either. I have arthritis with such pain that at times I can't zip my own fly. LOL It's actually not a laughing matter but I must accept my life as it is. Good luck on your new head. Rember, two heads are better than one.
