YO we have a problem

Stewarding at a show yesterday and took my new Nikon P80 compact with me to take some reference shots, but I seem to have a proplem with a mark down some of the shots, see below - top shot has the mark and the bottom taken seconds later has not. Both are straght from the camera apart from the size being reduced and a tiny amount of sharpening which I did to the batch before I looked at them. Can anyone help please?

Re: YO we have a problem

Hmmm, i can see what you mean. Azz its very slight, just to the left of the middle. Going from top through to the bottom.

To me it looks like something is either on the lens or maybe the sensor. However if it was the sensor, it would be there for every shot. I certainly dont think its a camera issue by looking at it.

Re: YO we have a problem

Snapper coulld it of been a hair across the lens that was moving in the wind, so on some shots it's there and others it isn't???????

Re: YO we have a problem

LOL - know what you mean about dog hair.

I took nearly 500 shots and it apears on some but not on others and I believe in the same place. However it was windy and I do have long hair, it is possible that a strand may have found it's way out of the clip but think the mark is always in the same place, will go and check.

Re: YO we have a problem

I will have to admit to lying to you, I have deleted one or two because of the mark but now I am looking for another taken later in the day and I can't find any. So thank you and I hope it was just a hair and here, as a reward, is a picture of a baby Elk, won puppy bitch class, the winner of puppy dog went on to win Best Puppy in Show. Good day for Elks.

Re: YO we have a problem

She was a sweet baby just 6 months at her first show and qualified for Crufts, owner and breeder delighted. The dog was a cracker too by he was just over the year so looked like an adult, still BPIS at a Championship show is a very good result.

Hope my camera problem is sorted as I bought it to take to Spain not wanting to cart the DSLR and Lens.

Re: YO we have a problem

One way to prevent this happening is to leave the lens cover on. Ok you won't get any pictures either but it cures the problem.
