I Love It!!

My 50mm arrived this morning - its awsome and soooooooooooooooooo fast!! Heres my first shot....

Thanks I assume that is wide open? How are you finding it? I know the Canons are a little soft wide open but when stopped down a couple of stops they are very good.

Yes thats wide open - i was looking at the f1.4 but theres not enough diff between the 2 lenses to justify an extra £150 or so.

Its a little soft wide open but not enough to bug me and nothing that cant be sorted. Iv stopped down with it but the difference isnt hugley noticable - well not to an untrained eye LOL

I was a little unsure about buying it TBH as with lenses, you usually get what you pay for - this one is not the case and the results are brill

Yes that is similar to the two Canon's. The difference in IQ is fairly minimal (especially when stopped down) - the main difference is in build quality, AF speed and bokeh.

I guess it also depends on what you want to use it for - sometimes people like the softer effect for portraits

Again this sounds similar to the Canon 50mm f1.8 - for the price the lens is very good
