I went for a tripod today and had a little play with the D300 while I was there! lol the shop assistant was watching me like a hawk!! It must have been the mad look in my eye! lol! I have to have one! but I might only be able to spin my money out to a D80

I'm becoming more drawn to the D200 - had a play with one and lurved it. Might have to wait for a lens upgrade though.

The D300 has dropped £100 in price... I reckon they'll drop more by the summer (don't they always 
) if you can just wait that long...

That's a good price considering how much the 18-200 costs by itself - maybe you and Finbar can both get one and they give you extra discount

Ah right... means you won't get a 2yr warranty..
Why not get some better glass now and get a new cam later?
I can't see glass improving much within a year, but camera bodys in a year come on leaps n bounds. I'd be more than happy with a D300 for years and years!

Not bad considering the lens is £400 on it's own.
Sent them (USA) an email asking about shipping costs and got this reply
Thanks very much for your interest in doing business with us.
The shipping service will cost you approximately $120 / £60GBP The import taxes are not applicable and the warranty is valid in all EU countries including UK.
Your camera will be shipped from Germany, we have a warehouse there for
all our European customers.
