Do lens drop in value much?

How well do they keep their value?

I'm thinking more the VR/IS type lens.

This is an expensive hobby!

Re: Do lens drop in value much?

There will always be a market for lenses, the only time they will drop in value, or should I say noticably drop in value, is when a newer version of that lens comes onto the market.

A lens looked after properly will last a lifetime whereas cameras are being updated every 3 years or so to boost camera sales, so previous models will tend to drop in price more.
