Thanx for the replies, just got one question would a ND filter help with this type of photo. Would this help with the burnt out highlights.
Which ND would be best ND 2, ND 4 , ND 8. any help with this would be great

Very nice Goggs

I was taking some similar shots the other day and ended up using a Soft ND 9 Grad. It's still hard to stop the brightest part from burning out though.

My suggestion would be to expose for the ground - stick the grad over the sky - see what you get then just try a few different shutter speeds. It's easier to go dark and lighten afterwards than try and get any detail from burned out areas.

That said - if your foreground is silhouetted - you don't really need to worry about the foreground too much.
