Re: The Puddy Cat...

Really lovely shots, i think i would have given her some more room in the first picture, just to get her toes in shot, and maybe used a flash to bounce/fill light onto the left hand side of the picture in the last pic. She is a beauty though!

In the middle picture, did you sharpen this one? there is something slightly odd about the fur???

The top one is really lovely! typical catty pose!!

Re: The Puddy Cat...

I'm no good with the c&c but I Love the 3rd pic really seems to put the personality across - I love shots with a slightly different angle or an odd expression.

Re: The Puddy Cat...

Thank you Sam,

I know her tips of her toes are missing, I cut them off when I took the shot, but I realy liked the pose

Duh! since I having been fiddling around in manual i forget about the flash Good tip, will wait till she is back on her post and try again. I did sharpen the middle one, did I overdo it??

Thank you xx

You can have a go if you want, I won't mind. Well, she is a slightly odd cat, she thinks she is a dog, don't tell her she's not!!!!

Yes just a little bit LOL!! i tend to use a mask when sharpening...

Duplicate your layer and sharpen this layer. Then apply a layer mask and mask out the areas you don't want sharpened leaving the eyes and face sharp to direct attention at the face and this doesn't over sharpen the rest of the image... i have used this a few times where i have focussed on the dogs eyes and then they move and i end up with the nose in focus and the eyes slightly out of focus... i sharpen the image then mask out the nose and the rest of it leaving the eyes sharp

Re: The Puddy Cat...

I like these ones MS. There is very little to CC that hasnt alread been covered. Just those toes, tweaking of the PP in the way of sharpening and maybe try metering from your subject as kitty is slightly underexposed and the background is competing for attention due to it being brighter
