A scanned 'old pic' on the new printer/scanner

Thought I'd have a go at scanning an old print to see how it looks.

I'll need to read the blurb to make sure I'm getting the best 'photo' quality but here's a bog standard (default settings) scan. It's an old picture of Hannah as a toddler with chippy our oldest cat.

Quite pleased with the result although I had memory problems whenever I tried to do a 'photo' scan or up the resolution.

Anyway - here's the result. Just a dummy run as an example. It's a straight copy from a pretty good original from my Canon SLR. Once I've cracked it I can trawl back through some old stuff.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
Kit 2

Looks good Phil - you won't need to go higher than 300dpi, so experiment from there down

Re: A scanned 'old pic' on the new printer/scanner

Thanks Azz

I think this was 300dpi

When I went to 600dpi it BEEPED and told me I didn't have enough memory.

I'll have a play around and see what gives me the best results against file size.

That does look really good, not like a scanned pic at all.

Nice pic too.

I am impressed that is really good, I did have a scanner, it met an accident and the quality was never that good.

ETA Very cute pic, Hannah was a cute toddler
