Help with what I can do to edit a photo of a grave stone

Hello,

I have not been on the forum for while. I hope everyone is doing well?

I have a photograph of a grave stone that I need to do something about editing the name and the years on. I tried smuge and blur them. This did not work. Someone I know has photoshop and removed the name and years on it. This made the picture lose it's meaning.

I don't have photo shop. I usally just use one of the online editors.

I was thinking I may just try to fade the letters in the name and years and make them bearly faint.

Does anyone know how I could accomplish this?

Thank you

You could try one of the good free bitmap editing programs like "Gimp".

With this you should be able to use a cloning brush or something similar.

Gimp is available from: HERE
Kit 1
1DSmkIII & 1DmkIV
Canon EF70-200L f/2.8 IS
Canon EF100L macro f/2.8 IS
Canon EF85L f/1.2 mkII
Canon EF24-105L f/4 IS
Canon EF300L f/2.8 IS
Canon EF17-40L f/4

Re: Help with what I can do to edit a photo of a grave stone

Hello KenTT,

Thank you for your reply,

I was looking into GIMP. One problem is my computer is almost 9 years old. I don't know if it could handle the program.

I will be getting a new computer. But that is several months down the road.

I was thinking maybe if GIMP portable may be the answer for right now.

The situation with the photo is that I needed to have it readly for an exhibition that is taking place in a few days and my editing skills are not at all advanced.

So the timing to lean and get the editing done is another problem.

Are you able to show us the picture and maybe we could think of some way that would be effective and fitting for the image.

Re: Help with what I can do to edit a photo of a grave stone

Thank you KenTT

I would provide the picture. With the name and dates in the original form it would be insensitive for me to do so.

You see the person who past away was a very young person who lived locally.

Since I have time constrants I decided to see if one of the photo stores can do what I want with the photo.

Thank you again for your assistance.
