Basically NO.

The whole idea of shooting in raw at the largest size is so you have access to any size up to the maximum raw size available to you.

I have all the raw images I have taken (bar really out of focus or irredeemable images) I have ever taken in the state they came out of the camera. Any editing is done in LR or on copies and the originals are kept safe.

Re: Image sizeing for prints.

Cheers Steve for your input, sadly ive lost circa 4000 images due to inexperience so no longer have my Raw images, im basically a wildlife enthusiast that grabs photos of my favorite subject, im no photographer perhaps i should rethink reason for taking images.

Re: Image sizeing for prints.

We all learn by our mistakes. I have made many over the years.

Consider your original raw image as a negative/slide in film terms. One would never cut the neg down to a certain size and a raw image should be treated the same.

In future always keep the raw as is and work on copies of the image.

Good luck and don't give up
