Website - How does it look ?

I thought I'd already posted this but perhaps not.

Had a play with Photium and created a website. Not sure if I'm going to go ahead with it yet but thought I may as well get some feedback.

In terms of the content - I've not added any written blurb or purchasing options yet and the images contained in the galleries are just random as they're a batch that I already had set up.

Anyway - opinions / suggestions / ideas welcome......

Cheers

Re: Website - How does it look ?

Looks great and that header is breathtaking.
You have an impressive portfolio.
One thing I did notice is that you have the cows backsides in there twice - once on the 2nd line and once on the fourth.

Re: Website - How does it look ?

I read a really good article recently about selecting photos for your online gallery.
I'll see if I can find it, but the main message was 'less is more'.

Re: Website - How does it look ?

Looks good Phil. I would get rid of the watermarks on your images though, they totally spoil the images, especially having it so large as well. I would just put a copyright notice below each image instead.

Re: Website - How does it look ?

I would have liked to see the pictures further to the right hand side with the wording for the subject matter above the pictures. At the moment it looks unbalanced , having said that the top with the panoramic picture looks really good. Thats just on the front page.

Looking at the pictures I don't think it would be that hard to eliminate the watermarks. Don't really know of any answer to stop pictures being lifted and used, except for posting low grade photos which can't be easily made by someone into commercially sellable products. Dawn has come across this problem with some of her photos of her pets being used worldwide and had trouble in getting them removed.

Remember that ANY pictures posted on the internet are liable to be copied/adjusted and someone else claim the credit, thats one reason why, apart from my business web site, I would never have a personal one.

Maybe restrict the viewing to those who register with you first, if thats possible, may help

Re: Website - How does it look ?

Lovely website Phil - and the banner is gorgeous. I agree that less is more though, and think it's a fantastic start!
