Last time I went to Leigh I saw plenty of sights and none of them as nice as those shots at Pennington Flash

Very nice photos.
Not having been where the photos were taken maybe it wasn't possible, however in the photo "Storm comming in" my personal preference would have been to try and get something in the foreground such as a bush/tree/ bench on the left hand side to have a focal point. The people walking does give a good idea of the size of the area which is good but as an added bonus. For me they don't draw my eye towards them, but i realise the sky was the main object of the photo.
As I say its just my personal point of view.
