OOBs (For Snapper)

This one is for Snapper, who asked in another thread what an " OOB " was.

OOB stands for " Out of Bounds " or " Out of Border ". It is an image that has been edited to such an extent, that it seems to defy the traditional laws of a 2-dimensional photograph, by appearing to be almost 3-dimensional.
Of course, it isn't really 3D.
The effect is created by taking parts of the original image, and extending them " outside " the border of the image.

It's quite an easy piece of post editing to learn, and there are loads of tutorials on the inter-web, you just gotta look!

Here are a few I made earlier

Re: OOBs (For Snapper)

Thanks MD, had seen it done but never heard the term OOB before, have to say the success seems to depend on the background chosen, get it wrong and the effect is grating get it right and the effect is amazing. Of your examples I love 2, 3 & 4 my OH likes the one with the Mal, not surprised about that he has hankered for a Mal since the early 70's. It seems to work best with people; will have to go and see what else is on the web.

Many thanks for you help I may even have a go if I have something I think suitable.
