Usual Dilemma

Off to Brazil very very soon and again like next week and the age old question what to take crops up.

I don't know 8 plane flights in a month and my internal clock has gone haywire.

Need one lens for a family Christening and another for the famous waterfalls
(don't ask me the name of them) we are flying to see whilst there. Ok decision-the 70-300mm VR lens with UV filter and the 24-120mm with UV filter as a walk about lens ( my favourite lens)

As for cameras this time looks as if it will be the Nikon D300 as my son is thinking about getting a Nikon DSLR, and for the price on the used market the build qquality far outstrips these latest models. No way would I part from mine even as a backup camera. Knowing my son he will still pick one from the bottom of the range like the D3200.

For video work it is again my Panasonic HC-X900M against taking the D800 to give it a rest from the med cruise we have just done.

So If I don't post for a time you know why

bye the bye

I am finding the D300 a lot more forgiving taking pictures than the D800 which you do really have to concentrate with to be spot on. The D800 is truly an out and out pro camera and to be honest I would not recommend it as a first buy, you do have to have some idea on Nikon cameras first

Re: Usual Dilemma

I don't know, such arduous decisions. Enjoy your trip, no doubt whilst out there you will pass comment to the effect of, " I wish I'd brought so and so along........................."
