Hmmm, a clue that won`t just give it away too easily

I was also thinking along the lines of a clock mechanism or perhaps an old pocket watch. It's difficult as I've no idea how small or large the 'thing' is LOL

Definitely too big to fit in a pocket

Next clue, the cog like bumps do not move at all

I`ll give it one more day then if no one gets it I`ll post the full photo, will sit back giggling at people kicking themselves then I`ll challenge you all with a new one
