Hey KK, would you mind giving some advice on how you get the soft pastel/portrait look on your images. I always have trouble with skin and getting the tones and texture right.

yeah of course i will

As i explained to Suzi (via pm)I bring the tones out by desaturated and lighting the reds on a new level. Dodge the shadows and midtones to get that "3Dish" look and dodge the highlights (mostly the t-zone)

To "smooth out" the skin i tend to duplicate the layer and use the surface blur. Delete the areas you want to keep sharp (eyes, mouth, nostrils ect ect) then change the opacity level to where your happy with. Try to keep the skins texture though. Its so easy to over do! I went OTT on this one as i was after that "doll" look
