Paddy's hair always looks strange on my screen too when the images are small.
Try clicking on the bar to enlarge. You won't get the full size 'clear' image but it may improve ?

The 2nd picture should be OK if you click the yellow bar then (if it's like mine) you only see a 'clean' image if you click the + magnifying glass.
Does that make sense Azz ?

I think it is white cat hair, my Daisy's hair always looks funny when it has been resized, but full size looks fine. Maybe we have strange cats
