Fungus...
Not sure what type of fungus 
but I'm pretty sure it *is* fungus at any rate! Very odd stuff - looked like old bottle tops from a distance...

that looks like a Sarcoscypha austriaca species to me. (Commonly known as Scarlet ElfCup). They are usually found on rotting birch or alder.

I like that picture Zoundz. I'm not sure about a crop, maybe a little vignetting rather than crop?

I like the composition and the colours are really nice.
Only the very front edge of the red bit and the lower green sprig are in focus though.
Perhaps a deeper depth of focus so more of the red part was sharp?
