The reviews only suggest that the brush moves the dust around a bit, or can cause smearing. It would probably work for loose dust but not stuck spots. The wet pads seem to be the best choice.
There are quite a number of reviews, I didn't keep all the links, but Amazon was one place. Some of the reviews were not directly to the Arctic brush, but if you read reviews on other products e.g. the pads, people mention they have used other products (including the Arctic etc.) and found them not so good. Several times you see the loupe is good, and wet pads. in any example there isalways the danger of a bit of grit or something scratching the filter in front of the sensor.

Yes of course. I've found it fine so far, but of course, if there was a pretty determined bit of muck, it probably wouldn't be much good!

Just for interest, i just read another review of a Delkon sensorscope and in that the reviewer says 'i turned to my trusty Arctic butterfly 724'. Clearly these reviews are all subjective and just dependant on varying experiences.

I think it all depends on if it's loose dust the Arctic butterfly is good, and pads/fluid if it's stuck on.
