Re: Made me smile

Just everyday words are different, and I am finding myself using them more and more too

I now say trash instead of bin, cart instead of shopping trolley, I do say soccer when talking to friends, as Football to them is their football not ours, and it gets confusing, silly things you don't notice, even car teminology, if you go to get your car fixed etc. Buying DIY stuff, faucet instead of tap, it just makes it quicker and easier when trying to buy or find something if you swap the words.

We are all bi lingual now, at home we all use english words, and phrases, but outside we use more American English words, and of course the kids have to spell American, or they lose marks in school work. It is strange because we turn it on and off, if I talk to someone from home, I use english words and phrases, it's weird.
