Woodpeckers, Swans and snowy Cairngorms reflected in Loch Morlich.

Well that's what I didn't manage to photograph today

Got up at 5 to find Mr and Mrs Woodpecker sitting on my twigs enjoying the morning sunshine. Picked up my camera and long lens and....nothing. Battery dead

Had to be up at a hotel in Coylumbridge (Aviemore) by 9:00 today for a work seminar and after finishing enjoyed a quiet moment or two on the side of Loch Morlich. The water was like a mirror and a pair of Swans sailed by with the snowy (ish) Cairngorms as a backdrop but alas - no camera again.

Ho - hum

I doubt the shots I'd have got are as good as the shots I missed but lesson learned.

I am sure they would of been fabulous, mine always are, that I haven't taken, and who hasn't done that, either. Camera phone? better than nothing

My classic, was leaving a card in the reader, and the rest of the cards in my Peli case at home I now always have some in each camera bag,and check the camera

Sounds like a perfect day up there I am supposed to be heading up that way this week so might be tempted to dig out the camera if the weather is nice
