Lackford Lakes wildlife.

Sorry this is a little image heavy ( 14 shots ), but I had probably my best day out with the camera to date in my humble opinion.

Re: Lackford Lakes wildlife.

Beautiful set Rich, I always wanted to capture a Kingfisher, never seem to pick the right spot. That shot with the fish in his mouth is great ! Well done.

Re: Lackford Lakes wildlife.

Many thanks Baz. These were all taken at Lackford lakes nr Bury St Edmund's a Suffolk Wildlife site. They are busy catching fish to feed their young, therefore this is a good time to catch them. Last year we saw Kingfishers on 5 different lakes. It is a case of patience. The lakes are open dawn to dusk with the visitors centre 10-5 in the summer. A one pound voluntary donation for parking is all they ask. They were all handheld/resting on the hide opening with the Nikon D7100 with 300mm/f4 lens with 1.4x tele converter. I also switched on the cameras extra 1.3x crop. This took me up to the 35mm equivalent of 819mm.

Re: Lackford Lakes wildlife.

Took nearly 1000 shots on Friday Phil in the 9+ hours we were there. Have cut that back to 120 shots.
