Re: Daft Outtakes

Hi Alison, yeah we don't get much of that sort of action here in the city suburbs...although my neighbour a couple of doors away seems to think his garden is more secluded than it really is! My other half has seen more than she expected on a couple of occasions!

Pictures look a million timnes better to me with those more natural colours. They could be tweaked a bit, but that second one before just looked way off on the processing.

Loxley do a good job, expensive but good. You may want to run a test set through DCSL or even Asda. The latter use better papers than you may expect and produce some good results once you set your calibration up suitably, and in some tests, DSCL seems to come out within a whisker of Loxley on quality. Might help the profit margins!

I have just sent some large B&W to DSCL to see what they come out like. Ilford prices are something like 25x the price!

Re: Daft Outtakes

Thanks for posting larger shots. It would be easier to work with RAW files of course - but I rather like my little edits - hope you like them - if you don't, do say and I'll take them down! I just love playing with photoshop these days! Shame I cropped out the other lady - as I thought her face was full of character... but I just couldn't seem to work her into the photo!

Re: Daft Outtakes

Now why didn't I think of mono?

Nice PP Zoundz, really like the conversions. If you don't mind sharing your secret, what's the recipe? Did it take long? (looks like it did, they're quality ). I try all the presets in channel mixer and B + W layers but usually end up resorting to either calculations or quad toning to get a decent result.

Re: Daft Outtakes

I use the butterscotch B&W action from here: http://www.thecoffeeshopblog.com/ and then tweak and add noise to my tastes!
