some portraits for friends

here are a few pics I took of some friends children. let me know what you think and if anybodies got any pointers then please let me know!

Nice picture.
Hard to tell as its quite small, but I wonder if the eyes could do with a bit of sharpening.

Yeah, there's only one picture.

Can you show us the others?

And can you describe your set-up for us? Are you shooting against a black background?: Are you only using 1 light positioned in the upper left hand side?: Are you using a flash?

sorry about the sharpness of the above photos! but I, foolishly, slowed down the shutter speed thinking that this would lighten the image! duuuurrrr! lol but we live and learn lol or in my case forget what I've been told may years ago then make stupid mistakes! lol it turned out to be the main flash going slightly early due to the SB800 shooting it's test flash! (note to self: need to practise more!)

I like what you're going for there - especially adding the comic book type bubble in the last one - great if you intend to go commercial as I reckon the kids would love that sort of thing

yeah that's wicked! Got a great grungy style to it too!

Actually, I know I've always said these effects n styles are great for kids... but I reckon some of us older kids would love them too
