Help

Help

I am relatively new to photography, i got my first camera in May 07. It is a Fujifilm s5600. I am having problems figuring out the aperture settings. the instruction book tells me to increase the aperture to my the picture out of focus everywhere but the centre. I have tried this numerous times an failed. can you help?

Re: Help

Hi Tricky and welcome to YoP

Increasing the aperture means using a smaller f stop number.
This thread should help explain it further http://www.yophotographer.com/page.php?t=27

Re: Help

Kanikula beat me to it.

I would think you have the camera set on Auto which does everything for you , the A setting is the aperture setting which has priority over the shutter speed and sets the shutter speed automatically to the aperture setting. Best is to try different A settings to get the results you want.

It takes ages to know your camera so don't try and learn everything at once, if in doubt most good camera shops will only be too pleased to help with any problems.

Re: Help

Welcome Tricky, can't add much as I don't have a fuiji, but we do have a few Fuji owners who may be able to help.
