Does anyone else ever feel like this?

Having a bad time of it lately, i seem to be really struggling to take decent shots, either too dark or over exposed, not trusting my instincts with it and second guessing my shots making them worse!

I have been so busy with snowpaw and puppy i haven't had any time to take shots or to even challenge myself.

I have a list of work to do from both snowpaw, and my photography but i just can't seem to get through it fast enough!

So i will have to say that until i can make a dent in the work load (which is good i have work) i wont be posting as much as i would like or should.

Re: Does anyone else ever feel like this?

For me good photographs are closely related to my mood. As most of you know I'm a hopeless motorcycle fanatic, riding great distances for a chance to photograph something I find worthy. I've gone on my such rides only to come home without even taking my camera out of its bag. Mostly it's do to the light. If the light isn't just so I'll come back when it is. It rains 8 months of the year here so a clear sunny day is a rare happening. I take my chances that my destination will have favorable light. At least I got a ride out of it.

Re: Does anyone else ever feel like this?

I feel exactly the same, I just don't trust myself to take a decent picture at the moment, I know I didn't touch my camera while I was unwell, and I seem to have forgotten most of what I know, but I did go to the lake the other day, and I didn't like anything I took, which made me feel really low, maybe some better weather will bring better results

ALL THE TIME!!

Dont worry about it. If you didnt doubt your abilities you would never progress or even care too!! - its the photographers version of writers block

Re: Does anyone else ever feel like this?

Thanks all, I am just under so much pressure at the moment. Managed to write a website in just a day today but it has taken me solidly from 8.30am until 9.00pm this evening, but it looks good, but means one less thing off my list. Will post a link when it goes live. Also writing a new snowpaw website which is going to be very exciting when it goes live... more up to date/modern and very flash which is due to go live on april 1st.

I have recently completed logos for the CEDCGB (Canadian Eskimo Club GB) which was well received and has caused much more work to come in from various breeders for logos and pictures

Re: Does anyone else ever feel like this?

When you are responsible for running your own business your first thought is for that, not only is it your personal baby it is your source of income. All your thoughts, inspiration and efforts are going into what ever client's project you have in hand it is no wonder that you are unable to give anything to your hobbies or photography at the moment, as your job involves creativity you would not be giving it 100% if your mind was on something else like the camera.
