Loving the Stonechats Laura, ours have dissipated with the cold winters over the last few years. At least you have a photo of the Surf Scoter, my only views of this species have been at a great distance.

Thanks Brian!

Our Stonechats have suffered badly too - but there are some good pockets of them around they are such lovely birds - the picture of hardiness - that they keep coming back despite the awful conditions that they face in the winters. The Scoter was fabulous - we were so lucky to see him so close in <3

I second that, love the stonechats but the Shelduck as well, colorful Shame the Scoter was not closer.

Lovely! The only one I know is the Sanderling...lots and lots of them! But being a smaller bird I don't see them well enough for decent photo except by luck...THose others are so pretty...Shirley

A Stonechat is one I'm yet to see (as far as i know) Zoundz.

I really like the Shelduck though - the green of the water really makes the white / colours / reflections 'pop'.
