Re: fox

Great, I love to see foxes. Often see them in my street and used to have one a few years ago that came every night and I hand fed it (appreciate some people hate them).

So what's the story Bazza...not easy to get that so close up...well done.

Re: fox

Ok so I cheated a little bit, but the photo was genuine, you always get one who spoils the illusion.
This is how friendly they were.

Re: fox

BC you say its not technically perfect so I am always willing to learn.
Don't forget I don't use photoshop 7, which I have, because it is too complicated and the photo was shot on Jpeg fine. Also I am very loathed to do editing in any case and this photo was only cropped.
I don't really know how to get professional looking photos just with Microsoft Digital Imaging 2006. So if ,using this product, you can tell me how to improve on it I would be grateful. bear in mind this photo isn't as good as the printed end product.

I now have a Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 lens which would have been better but at the time I didn't have it.

Re: fox

Hiya Bazza...I'm certainly not the one to be teaching anything about post-processing (or even imaging taking) as there are others here far more knowledgeable who have ripped my stuff to shreds However, on my monitor at least the highlights on the face and neck have blown and there looks to be some slight movement of the fox or camera vibration. I still appreciate it for what it is though and a nice capture of a fox. Said in my first post, I enjoy seeing them.

If you find Photoshop a little daunting then consider Elements. It does most of the same and you'll see a big improvement. It's pretty much acknowledged that most DSLR's require post processing to get the best and I'd say that with a D200 that would be quite important. I had one when working abroad and I rarely got a picture out of camera as I would like. Even the auto-adjust in the Adobe products makes quite a difference but it's not always accurate. Not sure if you saw my post a few days back but by chance I put some images from my D70 on my 'old' CRT flat screen and it was the best I had ever seen them! At home I have two business-orientated LCD flat screens and I now realise I haven't been seeing an accurate representation of my pictures. Once I decide on some future plans I intend to get a good monitor as it is evident the vast majority are not the best for photo-editing. It's all to do with gamut and other jargon.

Hope that helps a bit. No doubt the A group amongst us can offer more...
