Shorne Country Park Windmill

Beautiful day here today. A bit of a breeze at times but still lovely.
This is the mill at a Shorne country park near me.

Great sky, but windmills don't excite me, see them as ugly things in beautiful places.

That's in the park Dave. I'm sure when it goes fast enough it could run a small kettle.

Nice shot - I see them as man working in harmony _with_ nature, instead of against it. That to me is a thing of beauty

Sadly these turbines seem to be popping up all over the place, whether there is just one on its own or dozens together, they are becoming a blot on the landscape, but at the same time power companies have to look at different ways to harness power for the future without hurting the planet more than we have done upto now, Nuclear is bad, coal is almost a thing of the past and both coal and oil will not last forever. Two alternatives are wind and water, safer alternatives anyway

I was down at Whitstable and Herne bay last week looked out to sea and what did I see ,they are horrible
they should kick everyone out of scotland and make it a land of pylons,turbines etc hahahahaha
just about every picture here has got a pylon or cables in it
turbines are probably coming...........
