Fab pic (as ever DJ)

I love looking at 'detailed' pics of the moon. It's just so worn and pitted. I know it's fairly small (even compared to the earth) but that said....some of those craters must be huge.

PS

Still waiting for the first official capture of a clanger !

No UFO'S yet Azz I did'nt even bother to go outside and take this pic LOL, it was shot through my open window, just after switching the heating off on my radiator. It really was a very lazy and messy way to take an image of the Moon, I was suprised how well it turned out considering I was shooting through heat distortions from my radiator, the Moon was low in the sky and my telescope did not get a chance to acclimatise.

Thanks Phil I have a tele vue 5x powermate ( a fancy barlow lens) that I have yet to use for imaging the Moon, it will allow me to get very close detailed images of some of the Moons craters.

Did you know that our closest galaxy (Andromeda) is twice the diameter of the Moon in the night sky? you wont actually see it like this unless you take several long exposures and combine them.

I forgot to add that I used an infra red blocking filter on the Moon as well.

I've decided not to comment on your astrophotography shots any more DJ, basically because I can't do it and I'm jealous.

Ok...just this once....Nice Shot! ( as always )
