Photography magazines..do you?

Does anyone here read them/ have a favourite/contribute?

Am quite fond of flicking through 'Practical Photography' and 'Amateur photographer' over a cuppa...expensive but then passing them around my friends later equals out the cost and I don't read so called 'womens magazines' or expect a huge amount from them except for a wee bit of inspiration and a decent review or two...!

I asked on another forum but they were far too precious to admit to popping one in their shopping trolley.

Re: Photography magazines..do you?

I used to buy photography magazines at random before getting Practical Photography subscription for my birthday a few years back. I still read it when it arrives but I don't get as much from magazines now as I used to. Should cancel it really.

I've a pile a mile high now and if I dug out all the 2009 ones and compared them to the 2011 ones - apart from the gear reviews (which change obviously) it's the same old thing over and over.
Kit 1
Canon 1D Mark 3
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM
Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
Kit 2
1D2 & 40D

Yes - you can pick up 2nd hand IR converted bodies quite easily for not too much.

What do you reckon to the possible results Phil? I know it involves some resetting and trial and error exposure wise.. but is the concept itself worth buying into with an otherwise redundant SLR?
