What are you all planning on getting? Or saving up for?

Re: Your Shopping List

Here's mine, in this order:

D300 - Tick (bought a couple of months ago)
17-55 f2.8 Nikkor Lens
70-200 f2.8 Nikkor Lens
Canon 500D close-up filter
1.7 Tele Converter

I am planning on selling my studio equipment as I no longer use it (due to lack of space and time) and it is just sittng there gathering dust! Depending on how much I sell it should be able to get the 17-55 from it Then I will just have to save up for the rest!

Re: Your Shopping List

I'm a little torn between the 24-70 and 17-55 KK! But from the photos I've seen on flickr, the 17-55 seems to produce better results with the D300, again not sure why (and I haven't looked at D200 pics with it). I will however do some more research before deciding. Any reason in particular why you're going for it?

Re: Your Shopping List

I'm not 100% sure, but something that will take closer distance pics, if that makes sense , as you know my passion are birds and wildlife, and they just don't play ball and come up close to the camera, and the 55-200mm just doesn't cut the mustard, but I'm torn between that and a macro lens, I miss having one of them so maybe Father Christmas will be ultra nice to me this year

Re: Your Shopping List

I want a really good macro lens as i haven't got one (well i have but its built into my tamron 70-300 )

not much else i really want at the moment, a couple of reflectors i will get at some point so i can just unfold them and use them when needed etc.

Re: Your Shopping List

I think that because the 17-55mm has a shorter focal range the pics are that little bit sharper, but i cant imagine it being a massive difference between the 2? Being honest iv not really considered this lens as it hasnt got the range im after for portraits
