Re: PLEASE say this works!! (1 x colour of magic series)

I like the creativity you have added to the shot but for me the expression just doesn't work - sorry. The butterflies are a nice touch and have come out well, the only other thing I would prefer to see would be to clone the sequins on her top where the flash has blown them out, that area is slightly distracting.

...thanks, I'll take that as a dig I'm less artistic then. Such a way with words mate.

My opinion, actually I think the idea works without the butterflies and simply expressed an opinion.

It's not a dig at you - it's totally not your style/area - I can't see you doing these type of shoots let alone this style!

You said you couldn't see the point in it - and I was just saying it's what makes the shoot different to what her clients would have got elsewhere (esp the less artistic ones). She's using her creative flair and it's these little touches that will make her stand out Well that's what I've always believed hence done my best to push her in the direction.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the idea that the butterflies have flown out from the countryside image in the frame, to the 'real world' that is the wall that the picture is on?

I kind of like it, but the fact that the girl is in the image on the wall, while her arms are in the real world is a bit confusing, I think it would have been better if the girl was reaching out of the frame in to the real world.

It's only a small observation, apart from that it's a nice image, and it's put together really well, it might have been an idea, as the world in the picture is a nice summer scene, to make the real world a grotty, run down place to really contrast the real world with the fantasy world, but it depends on what feel you are after I guess

All the best,
Alan.

Re: PLEASE say this works!! (1 x colour of magic series)

I'm with WW, think that it would work a little better if she was coming out of the pic as it is a little confusing that she is "in" the pic and not with the arms outside the frame rather than coming from it.

I like the expression, gives the sense that she has her face against the glass in the frame and is trying to get out.
