Re: Few from today...do they work?

Lovely set BC.
I really like the relaxed candid moments you have captured.
I always like chocolatey monos but I also love the tones you have created in numbers 3 and 4 they seem both muted and rich at the same time.
The only thing that bothers me is the ladies face in number 1 - it feels a bit bright to me. Is that from the PP or was it like that SOOC?

Re: Few from today...do they work?

SOOC? Is that a Norfolk term?? Bit early for me to work that one out...

Maybe my processing...I have tried to take the whites to the limit trying to created a little bit trying to bring up fair skin, keep the ladies looking pale but maybe it has gone too far. Exactly why it is great to hear others opinions and interpretation.

PS. two or three minutes passed...Straight Out Of Camera!

Re: Few from today...do they work?

LOL! Sorry about SOOC! Certainly not a Norfolk term! You are right, I meant Straight Out Of Camera.
I really like bright skin too but I think she looks almost blown in places. Maybe its because her profile is so close to the bloke who has darker tones.
Still really like it though!

Re: Few from today...do they work?

It is meant to be blown though, but only just, see Stanokellas post... the idea is from diffuse glow in photoshop...sort of a softer skin quality on 4, not sure it works on 1, sort of a cold, fleshy arm on 3...

Re: Few from today...do they work?

Hi Stuart, I'm a bit of a wimp when It comes to critique, just too concerned that I might give offence, and your bigger than me. In this case all I can say is that I would be totally happy if these were mine. They convey the mood perfectly.

I'm only 5'2"...unless you know different...

Thanks for the comments NS. I never mind comments that are fair and constructive and always try to give the same. I don't mind opinion being different although i may retort with my intention and point of view on teh matter. I'd sooner see comment than no comment.

I appreciate your words, and glad you liked them, but please always in future feel you can comment.

Re: Few from today...do they work?

Not too keen on the first or last shot TBH, I love the third shot, because she looks like a fun character, but I think the second shot works the best for me, like the PP in this one, plus everyone in the background seems to belong there,it looks the most authentic,if that's what you were going for.

Re: Few from today...do they work?

Hi Stuart, I like the look and feel of the first and last shot, for me they convey the period with the right amount of PP to look authentic in my eye.

Re: Few from today...do they work?

I didn't see these when you posted them originally - and I adore number 2 - I thought they were really recent shots and was going to say you just keep getting better and better at this sort of thing! I really do love number two - the character caught, the PP, the tones... it's just great!
