Hornbill, Babbler and Barbet

Birds around at the moment:

The Crested Barbet (Paint factory explosion colouration with a permanent bad hair day)

Southern Pied Babbler (Real characters, they roam around in a group like a bunch of noisy, destructive schoolkids, digging everything up, throwing everything they can over, all the time shouting away on the top of their voices.)

Yellow-Billed Hornbill. (Very common, these guys get very tame really fast and will learn to take food from your hand in a few days. They eat anything and anything they can cram down their gullets.)

Thanks for looking!

Brilliant set of images - and your lens stays very sharp even at full reach. keep them coming.

Re: Hornbill, Babbler and Barbet

Great set, and the first bird looks like he couldn't make up his mind what colour to be, very unusual

Re: Hornbill, Babbler and Barbet

Fabulous pictures! You SAers have brilliant names for your birds lol! The best pic I've got of SA birds, though, is of an LBJ called a Neddicky sitting on a prickly pear!
