Re: Off to the Hop

On reflection (apart from the cropping of legs and the edge of the car, and that's just personal) - I do think I prefer the second - I do love the expression in his face - you've captured that very well. I would love to see these in colour myself though - if you do them that way, it'd be wonderful if you could share them

(and I'm only getting so fired up and imaginative about these shots, because as always with your people shots, I love them, and think they hold so much scope for the mind!)

I appreciate all input. Although clearly some people aren't welcoming of comment that finds fault or issue with their work, I post here for reaction be it good or bad. Sometimes as a result I may reprocess the picture in a different way later so I do listen. Although some people have said they may not not feel qualified to comment technically, anyone can look at a picture and say what they do or don't like about it.

I know you are making the above comment in jest , but your comment is valued.

Incidentally in this instance I have seen the comments from Moonie, Laura, Ken and spent an hour late last night trying to recreate the 50's look in colour without success! I had quite a busy shift and needed a couple of beers but I just couldn't get it right. Will have another go at some point when time allows.

Ken - stupid mistake, I forgot my CPL filter. Wasn't likely to need it at the event I was at, maybe it would have had an effect on the glass. said it in one of your threads, but I can't remember if it will work on the paintwork or not, I know it has to be a non metallic surface. Must get out and remind myself! Should know these technical things!

Hi BC, I'm in good company then, because I always forget my CPL and flash when I go to car meets.

I find both can be invaluable at times especially on a bright sunny day, but for some reason I sometimes forget to pack them the evening before I leave.

BTW, the CPL will help on painted surfaces. I very occasionally will do a multiple exposures turning the CPL to reduce unwanted reflection in each different panel then merge/mask in PS for the finished item.
