Lions on a kill

Two males brought down a wildebeest out on the plains behind us. Naturally they lay in the shade to munch, stretching my knowledge of how to handle exposure correctly way beyond it's limits.

Throat grip

Nomnomnom...yum!

Weapons of mass consumption

Ok, tell you what....he's already struggling, let me drag this half into the sun and I'll lie here, that way he won't stand a chance of getting that photography thing sorted.

Tastes like...er...wildebeest...

Ok, throw him something...I'll sit here and look all mean and broody. He's on my good side.

This guy arrived, but hung well back (I realize it's a useless pic, but it is so difficult to get shots of them......)

Next morning very little was left, the jackals were looking for scraps.......(and doing well - look at that belly!! They are normally so scrawny!)

And these guys had little to do except look daft sitting in all the flowers... (again I know it's not a good pic, but like the incongruity of the bird in the flowers)

Thanks for looking!

Fantastic set, and thanks for sharing.

Magnificent animals, great to see the other animals waiting too, do you have any African Wild dog shots, after watching an Attenborough programme about them, they have been a fave of mine.
