Re: Wedding from two weeks ago.

Love this style of wedding portraiture, I like 3 except her head maybe needs a clean area around it, I know it's reportage, but it's niggling me the body exactly behind hers, but it's a lovely image of the bride. I ADORE the the bride and little boy shot,it's bang on, it's brilliant Mr Finney

It's a great set, you captured the wedding as it happened, and that little boy shot is wonderful x x x

Every shot a winner.

Re: Wedding from two weeks ago.

I think this is some of your best work you have uploaded. 3 is a little odd but the others look really good especially as you don't have the benfit of fast lenses except for the 50mm. The S5 pro really is a good camera for wedding work helping with the excellent dynamic range. The kiss picture particularly exhibits good competence with the flash balanced in the room (hope you didn't stick it all on auto '! )

Ok, begs some questions... How many weddings have you now done? Working alone or with a second tog? Did you shoot as a second tog first? I would particualrly be interested in which courses you chose to do? Some are a day or two, some a week, interested which you went for? What do you think of photo courses in general, did you get enough personal tuition and were they good folks in attendance or knobs with big cameras and no idea? Sorry for the questions, genuinely interested.

Re: Wedding from two weeks ago.

Thanks BC! In answer to your questions I have shot about 25 weddings now 8 of which I was flying solo!!!! I have shot 17 as a second shooter, but I did jump in head first at the beginning! How lucky I was that I had no problems in my first two weddings! I found the weddings I have done as a second shooter very interesting indeed! In some I have learnt a lot and in a few I have wanted the ground to swallow me up when I realized how bad the "pro" I was working with was!!! The courses I have done so far have been two day jobbies with a local "old" pro! Very good and he keeps his courses to groups of 4 or 5 so you get plenty of one on one time! But I am looking in to other courses at the moment. The type of tog who attended the courses I did was a mixture of the above really! lol

oh and for this last wedding I hired a 80-200 nikon f2.8 and fell in love! lol

oh and to just clear up another thing! nothing goes on auto anymore! lol

Re: Wedding from two weeks ago.

Thanks, didn't realise you had done so many, excellent! Don't have enough confidence to do them myself. The second tog experience is invaluable for understanding what is required.

The 80-200 is excellent. Completely overshadowed by the 70-200 but I have one that is a bit older now but optically excellent.
