Iso ?

If this has been covered some where else, oops sorry :rolleyes:

Hi my camera has a little icon thingy that says ISO and directly underneath in the same icon, if you know what I mean, it says Auto, when I click on that icon there are two section (when camera is set to Auto) that says Auto or High ISO Auto, when in P it clicks up as Auto, HI, 80, 100, 200, 400 & 800, what does all this mean, help please, any replies can you please try to remember I'm a complete idiot when it comes to technical terms :o

Basically the ISO allows you to use faster shutter speeds when the lightis low or at night. The darker it is the higher the ISO you need. BUT you will scrafice the quality of the pic as you will get NOISE (grains) in your final image.

I tend to stick with an ISO of around 200 for most shots.
