Re: Water Droplets

To do the water droplets i used a mixing bowl and put it n an upside down dogs bowl in the sink to bring the mixing bowl tall enough so it was just out of the sink. I filled it up to the top and set the tap so it was just on a steady drip. I used my 70-200 lense as i don't really have a macro, but that lens also gives me the quality image when i zoom in in PP.

I set up the camera on the tripod and focused on my finger in the middle of the bowl with the camera, with the camera pointing across the surface of the water (for some shots it worked best pointing slightly down onto the surface). I set the shutter speed at 1/5 sec and used the flash too. then holding down the shutter release i took a series of images hoping at least one of them would come out ok

Re: Water Droplets

OK Sam, I've followed all your instructions, and given it a go.
Here are the results with my new Sony a700.

1st time effort, and 1st day using the camera too, so I'm still making some mistakes. I didn't have a big enough clear, glass bowl ether, that largest one I had is made of an opaque plastic, and wouldn't have worked, but thanks to Samnooshka for the help. Now that I know how to do it, I'll get it spot on next time.
