thanks guys...

HDR on bikes seems to work really well!! it really brings out the lines and shape of them i have been asked to do some more on Friday evening when i go out to Soho for another bike meet

HDR = High Dynamic Range... will add it to the terminology thread basically it is where you take 3 pictures of the same image, one at normal exposure (mid tone), one under exposed to expose details in the highlighted areas and one over exposed to expose detail in the shadows. and you merge them together to bring out all the detail in each range.
